FAQs

Who can join the Shine Bury St Edmunds Support Group ?

Birth mothers who have been through a final court hearing and where it has been decided that the child or children should live elsewhere. There is no time limit and mothers can attend regardless of when the final court hearing took place.

What about birth fathers  & other friends & relatives?

We would like to extend our services to include others that have been affected, in the future, but unfortunately we aren't ready to do so at the moment.

What about confidentiality

We ask all group attendees to respect each member's privacy by keeping identities and shared experiences confidential and within the group only. Shine have a Confidentiality Policy which will be shared with each group member as part of their welcome pack, along with our Safeguarding and any other relevant policies.

How do I join?

We don't have a referral form as we believe that most of the birth mothers have probably had to share far too much private information with strangers. If you would like to come along to a support group meeting, please click the Contact Us button and complete the form. We only ask for your name and a contact number. If you wish to share an email address as well, this is optional. We will then get in touch with you for a brief chat.
